To develop an appreciation of the legacy of the past, where students can come to understand their connection to their heritage and role as citizens.

Social and Political Movements

Analyze the impact of the women’s movement in Canada since 1914.

Specific Expectations

Methods of Historical Inquiry and Communication

Students of history must use a wide range of sources, information technology, and skills to conduct research and investigations. They must also be given the opportunity to develop their critical thinking and analysis skills, and be given appropriate mediums to communicate their findings.

Interpretation and Analysis

Draw conclusions and make reasoned generalizations or appropriate predictions on the basis of relevant and sufficient supporting evidence.

Communication

Express ideas, arguments, and conclusions, as appropriate for the audience and purpose, using a variety of styles and forms.
