Promoting Excellence in Government Recordkeeping



The Recordkeeping Support Unit (RSU) of the Archives of Ontario was established in 2007 to enable Ontario government ministries and designated provincial agencies meet their responsibilities under the Archives and Recordkeeping Act, 2006. In an effort to foster government accountability and transparency and to promote excellence in government recordkeeping practices, the unit provides advice and guidance to all Ontario government ministries and government agencies, and has developed and released supporting tools, guides, and related training and education materials. RSU supports ministries and agencies in their records scheduling activities and tracks the government of Ontario's Archivist approved records retention series.

To deliver excellence in recordkeeping support, the Archives of Ontario RSU subscribes to the following guiding principles and service standards.
