Affidavit of Citizen Transit Commissioner Sarah Wright-Gilbert Available on Commission’s Website

Sarah Wright-Gilbert, Citizen Transit Commissioner, testified at the Ottawa Light Rail Transit Commission Hearings on June 29, 2022. She was part of a panel of City Councillors who gave evidence. The others were Councillors Catherine McKenney, Allan Hubley and Diane Deans.

Following her appearance on the Panel, Ms. Wright-Gilbert contacted the Commission and asked to submit further evidence in response to the testimony from Mayor Jim Watson on June 30, 2022.

That evidence is contained in an affidavit and is now posted on the Commission’s website.

The Commission continues to regularly update its website to keep the public and media informed on the latest developments in the inquiry, including next steps in the process.

QUICK FACTS

  • The Commission has held two public meetings in Ottawa, where residents shared their comments and concerns regarding the breakdowns and derailments of Stage 1 of the Ottawa Light Rail Transit project as well as four weeks of hearings where over 40 witnesses testified under oath.
  • Participants of the Ottawa Light Rail Transit Commission’s Hearings have until August 5, 2022, to submit written closing submissions.
