The Ottawa Light Rail Transit Commission will be delivering its final report to Ontario’s Minister of Transportation by November 30, 2022.

Following public hearings held in Ottawa from June 13 to July 7, 2022, the Commission asked the Minister of Transportation, Caroline Mulroney, for an extension to deliver its final report after August 31, 2022, as permitted under the Commission’s mandate. The Commission received the authorization to deliver the report by no later than November 30, 2022.

This extension will afford the Commission sufficient time to have the report produced in French and English.

The Commission continues to regularly update its website to keep the public and media informed of the latest developments in the inquiry, including next steps in the process.

• The Commission has a mandate to investigate the questions posed in the Commission’s Terms of Reference, including the procurement, delivery and operations of Stage 1 of the Ottawa Light Rail Transit system.
• The Commission has held two public meetings in Ottawa to gather feedback and hear the views of the community regarding Stage 1 of the Ottawa Light Rail Transit project, four weeks of hearings where over 40 witnesses testified under oath and an Expert Panel discussion on public-private partnerships.
