CNE Partners with Archives to Remember WWI

The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), an annual Toronto event since 1879, has borrowed the Archives of Ontario’s travelling exhibit Dear Sadie: Loves, Lives, and Remembrance of Ontario’s First World War. It will be placed alongside the CNE’S 100 Years - Remembering the First World War, a brand-new CNE exhibit that makes use of hundreds of photos from the CNE’s archives. Canada’s expeditionary force used the CNE grounds for training purposes between 1914 and 1916. Dear Sadie, which focuses on the personal written accounts of four Ontarians caught up in the global conflict, is the perfect complement to the CNE’s exhibit. The Archives of Ontario is proud to partner with the CNE in commemorating the heroism of thousands of Ontarians whose sacrifices at home and overseas were instrumental in preserving liberty and fundamentally shaping a modern Canada.
