Marriages: Marriages dated between July and December 1869 are indexed in the Original Index Books to Birth, Marriage, and Death Registrations (RG 80-11) listed below. Also check the Original Index Books to Marriage Registrations (RG 80-24) for marriages taking place in 1869.
Deaths: If you have already searched the Indexes to Deaths (RG 80-10) and have not found the death registration you are looking for, there is a very slight chance that the death is indexed in the Original Index Books to Birth, Marriage, and Death Registrations (RG 80-11) listed below.
The Original Index Book is arranged:
First, by surname initial, and
Second, by the event (ordered by marriages, deaths, then births)

Consult MS 938, Reel 1 in our reading room on the ground floor, 134 Ian Macdonald Blvd., Toronto.
Through the Interlibrary Loan Department of your public library, borrow microfilm MS 938, Reel 1. This microfilm cannot leave the borrowing library, so make sure to request it from a library that has a microfilm reader.
Borrow the film from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through their Family History Centres. The Family History Centres have a different numbering system than the Archives of Ontario. For deaths proceed to: Registrations of Deaths (Listed Geographically) - 1869-1899

If the person's name is not in the Indexes (RG 80-4 or RG 80-12 for Births, RG 80-24 for Marriages, RG 80-10 for Deaths), or in the Original Index Books to Birth, Marriage and Death Registrations listed above, the event was likely not registered or did not take place in Ontario.
