When submitting lesson plans for inclusion in the project please provide the following information.

Central Question(s)
This should drive the inquiry and meet the following criteria:
- connect to lesson and unit expectations
- require judgment to be answered rather than just recall of information

Expectations
What students should know and do based on provincial curriculum - 3 maximum
- one of which should connect to content / and the focus question
- one of which should connect to a skill or process in historical thinking
|
Assessment
How teachers and learners know that they know
- informal such as observation, question and answer
or
- formal such as quiz, essay, homework, or even a culminating performance task
|
Duration 
- Number of class periods, specify the length of the class(es) in question since
- High school classes usually 70-80 minutes
- Elementary classes are often just 40 minutes

Lesson Procedures
Outline of what teachers and students need to do during the lesson
Here are some options to set this up.
- Option 1 - just a numbered sequence from the opening to the closing of the lesson
- Option 2 - a back and forth sequence (Teacher action / Student action)
Note: Option one may be easier although for some lessons Option 2 may be clearer. |
Hints for Teachers
This could include:
- additional resources
- required background knowledge and / or skills students require
- modifications and accommodations for English Language Learners and special needs students
