As the result of a two stage public
procurement process started in early 2002 and concluding in
March of 2003, Archives ONE Limited Partnership was selected
as the successful bidder to provide storage and retrieval services.
The storage and retrieval Service Level Agreement (SLA) between
the Archives of Ontario and Archives ONE contains extensive
performance standards to be established and maintained by Archives
ONE throughout the 25 year term of the contract.
|
|
| In less than a year, Archives
ONE constructed an archival storage facility that met all
the Archives' required performance standards for temperature,
humidity, fire and water protection, air quality and security.
The Archives retained an external consulting group of engineers
and architects to audit the design and construction in order
to certify that the facility met all the required standards
set in the SLA. Once certification was achieved in April 2005,
the Archives approved the commencement of the move to the
new facility, which was undertaken by Archives ONE under the
terms of the contract.
