Moving Forward to Preserve the Past - Service Improvements

The target storage environments were achieved within a three month period and are now fully stable as demonstrated by monthly reports received from Archives ONE LP. Monthly reports are generated for both the storage service (environmental monitoring, etc.) and for the retrieval service (time for delivery, accuracy of order fulfillment, etc.).

The new service standards have already proven effective as demonstrated by a recent retrieval of a large volume of containers of sensitive government records to satisfy a police investigation. The records were delivered to the public service facility well within the prescribed performance standards.

Given the 25-year basis for the service provision, there will be constant monitoring and opportunities for improvement. In fact, the Service Agreement incorporates an innovation and change section that encourages and anticipates such improvements by both parties.

A permanent Management Committee comprised of senior staff of both the Archives of Ontario and Archives ONE LP meets monthly to identify both potential problems and enhancements to the provision of services.
