Letters From the Depression
Grade 10 - History Academic

Purpose
This lesson is designed to assist students in developing a sense of historical perspective or empathy with people who lived through the great depression. They will critique letters to determine which is the most effective in portraying the economic, social and cultural hardships that [some] Canadians experienced during the 1930’s. Then, using the knowledge gained they will write their own compelling historical letters.
