Overview
This lesson is an opportunity for students to extract information from an archival document in order to critically examine historical socialization patterns and family roles. It is important for students to use original resources when studying historical socialization.
This 1921 pamphlet, “Your Daughter’s Mother”, is apart of a sub-series that consists of files created and maintained by various branches of the Provincial Board of Health, the Department of Health and the Ministry of Health pertaining to public nursing in Ontario.
Purpose
Students will critically examine a section of the “Your Daughter's Mother” pamphlet from 1921.
