Purpose

To write a letter to the president of the T. Eaton department store and offer congratulations or complaints about the contents of a display window.

Communities: Local and national. Students investigate how a large department store both influenced and reflected the values of the community it served.

Methods of historical inquiry and communication. Students interpret and analyse information about the impact of the social messages delivered through display windows.
