| The Indexes
to Deaths (RG 80-10) are computerized printouts
that were created by the Office of the Registrar General
in the 1960s to replace a manual indexing system. To use
these indexes you need to know the name of the person
whose death you are tracing, and the year in which they
died.
The Indexes to Deaths for 1869-1919 are
arranged:
- First, by surname initial
- Then, by year of the death
- Lastly, alphabetically by the full
name.
The Indexes to Death for 1920-1935 are
arranged:
- First, by year of the death
- Then, alphabetically by the full name.
