Tooke emigrated to Canada in 1954 and has continued to work in
stained glass ever since. The artist was formerly the National
Director of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and the
Chairman of the Management Committee of the John B. Aird
Gallery, Toronto.
The work displayed here is a mosaic of glass, epoxy
resin and steel, with a fluorescent light source. The areas of
relief give the piece a sculptural look and it can be imaginatively
perceived as an aerial view of a city at night. |
