In 1986, further contemporary works entered the collection as a result of the Northern Ontario Relocation Programme (N.O.R.P).
This programme resulted in the construction of six new government buildings across Northern Ontario, in Sudbury, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, and Thunder Bay.
As part of NORP, Art Selection Committees were appointed in these four cities.
