Thomas and J. R. Connon, a Photographic Legacy: The Connon Panoramas - Page Banner

There are many panoramic photographs in the Archives' collections. Most are view of streetscapes, landscapes and large groups of people. They became particularly popular during the First World War when they were used to photograph large groups of soldiers.

But, even though John Connon invented the camera, the Archives only holds 6 prints and 4 negatives created by him. Five of the prints are reproduced here and all but one were taken during the year he spent working in New York.
