The Palace Theatre in Toronto
opened in 1924 with seating for 1,575. During the 1970s the theatre
was used as a bingo hall.
In 1983, it went back to showing films and the auditorium was
split into three. The theatre closed in 1987 and has been demolished.

On February 2, 1939, an inspector found the projectionist out
of the booth at the time of his visit, but he had a good excuse.
A memo to the Chief Inspector form the inspector says that...
“he saw boys
shooting lead shots from the seats outside the booth at
patrons and [the projectionist] felt it was his duty to
catch them when he had the opportunity”
