Wilma Morrison: Champion of Niagara’s Black History

Educator, historian and tireless advocate for Black History in Niagara, Wilma Morrison (1929–2020) was instrumental in preserving one of the region’s most important historic sites—the R. Nathaniel Dett Memorial Chapel. This exhibit explores the significance and impact of her work through the records in the Wilma Morrison fonds preserved at the Archives of Ontario, a treasure trove for learning about Black History in Southern Ontario and beyond.
