Huron (Wendat)

A First Nation which, in the early 17th century, inhabited the area between Georgian Bay and Lake Simcoe. They were dispersed by the Iroquois (1648-1650); some survivors settled near Quebec, while others moved near Detroit and to the Ohio Valley.
