Technical Details

Two copies of the Ipperwash Inquiry website were transferred to the Archives of Ontario on two CD-Rs on August 22, 2007 following the conclusion of the Inquiry’s work and the release of its report. The website was transferred under authorized records schedules RC 1 (Royal Commissions - Operation Files) and RC 2 (Royal Commissions - Administration Files). Each CD-R contains the html files of the Ipperwash Inquiry website and supporting documentation and total 1605 files in 339 folders with a size of 399 megabytes.

The website was developed and hosted by Autcon for the Government of Ontario with the cooperation of Peter Rehak, Coordinator and Media Relations Officer, David Henderson, Chief Administrative Officer for the Inquiry and Debbie Strauss, Manager of Operations & Executive Assistant to the Commissioner.

This is the final version of the Inquiry's website. The original domain name was www.ipperwashinquiry.ca. It was launched on February 5, 2004 and ran on a 64-bit Linux server running Apache web server software. A mirror server ran the same operating system and web server software. The site had received about 3 million hits at the time of transfer to the Archives of Ontario.
