The evolution of Osgoode Hall: A building in flux

Osgoode Hall is more than a landmark. It is a primary document of Ontario’s history. While many recognize the grand facade of this well-known Toronto building, the story of its development is often tucked away. This exhibit draws primarily from the J.C.B. and E.C. Horwood collection (Fonds C 11) at the Archives of Ontario — more than 30,000 architectural drawings and other materials generated or accumulated by the Horwood brothers — to reveal the evolution of a “Living Landmark.”  The exhibit was created in celebration of the 200th anniversary (2027) of The Law Society of Ontario’s Great Library at Osgoode Hall.
