The world’s game in Ontario: Soccer, community and belonging

Soccer is known as the world’s game. People from all over the world brought the sport with them when they arrived in Ontario. Teams, leagues and communities were all built around the sport. This exhibit explores historical moments when Ontario has been on the international stage. It celebrates the growth of soccer in local communities and shows how the game has united people from across the province. All the records featured in this exhibit are from the Archives of Ontario’s collections and date from about 1912 to 1998.
