Today, Ontario is known for its wine and many vineyards but this has not always been the case. The international recognition and success of the Ontario wine industry is relatively recent. Indeed, Ontario wines only began receiving several international accolades and acknowledgement around the 1990s, but the story of wine development began almost 150 years ago.
