Doors Open Toronto is on Saturday, May 24 at the Archives of Ontario

Doors Open Toronto

Join us for free from 10am to 5pm (last admittance is at 4pm). You can learn about our building, our collections and what we do as one of the largest provincial archives in Canada. Keeping in mind the city-wide event’s theme of ‘play’, we have lots of special programming for the day:

Catch live performances by legendary steel pannist Panman Pat McNeilly at noon, 2pm and 4pm in our classroom.

Play our custom, family-friendly scavenger hunt to get to know our reading room and exhibit area. Win the game and you’ll be whisked into our vaults and Preservation Services Laboratory, to see what happens at an archives behind the scenes.
Also enjoy our current exhibits:

Learn about incredible “untold stories” in Ontario Black music history in the B'LACK THEN: Muted Melodies exhibit (curated by the Canada Black Music Archives) in our Reading Room.

Listen to personal narratives documenting the rich Black histories that have shaped contemporary Toronto through the video installations in Black Diasporas Tkaronto-Toronto (curated by Kholisile Dhliwayo) in our Reading Room.

Discover our changing relationships with other animals and how these species have left their mark on Ontario  with our in-house exhibit, ANIMALIA, located in our Helen McClung Exhibit Area.

Our purpose-built facility on York University's Keele Campus is not to be missed. We’re conveniently situated right next to the York University subway stop.

Once you’re in the area, plan your day or weekend with these nearby #DOT25 sites in mind:
