The Registrar General has the power to correct vital statistics records, including those in the custody and control of the Archives of Ontario and which have been microfilmed. In these cases, the Office of the Registrar General digitally scans the original paper registration then annotates that it has been scanned, along with the scanning date. The scanned original registration, along with an electronic version of the revised registration, is then maintained by Office of the Registrar General. Because these annotations do not appear on the microfilmed registrations, a list of corrections has been listed here in Appendix B5.
